Prologue to the Life in the Balkans.

The Balkans.

What a strange place to live in. From Greece to Slovenia you will find generous, good hearted, funny and very proud people.

Here are some of the stereotypes about the people of Balkan.

We have the Serbians which are happiest when they remember they aren't Croatians and we have Croatians which are happiest when they remember they aren't Serbians. Get the picture yet?
Then come the Montenegrians, who really like to work. Who am I kidding, they're the laziest people on the planet!
Bosnians.. Kebab.
Macedonians get to pretend they're descendants of Alexander even though they aren't.
Albanians get to be the toilet of European stereotypes, from poor to dirty but still proud.
Greeks are hairy, loud, broke and known to be a generally bad investment.
Bulgaria is goat cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes, never really hear much from them.
Romanians are basically gypsies, or are they?

And since I'm having a laugh at my Balkan brothers here's one about Slovenians;
We get to drink schnapps after work and no one bothers us because no one cares or knows we exist.

But seriously, here we all hate and love each other but what we have in common? None of us like Turks.
Jokes aside, a lot of great countries, people and cultures who are finally stepping together to make a better future.

And how I came to be tangeld up in this?
Next time.

Ziga.
