COFFEE CULTURE
An Interesting Culture
One can sit all day long with one cup of coffee if desired. No one ever tries to hurry or rush you away. And people do sit for hours visiting or just as often by themselves. People read, work on computers or visit with friends. The coffee bars open early in the morning and remain open late at night. No one ever seems to be in a rush.
But you see, it's not as peaceful as it may seem, if you're not used to this kind of place. You would probably think we're crazy! It's very loud and besides the coffee there are a lot of people drinking beer or rakija any day of the week, any hour of the day. Talking about neighbours, wives and general complaining about life. The occasional fist fights and stupid arguments about cars and types of strudel, which is a very fun argument to have, everything is pretty calm and relaxed and doesn't seem unusual at all.
At the end of the day you realize that coffee bars are a somesort of a forum. You want coffee and peace? You got it! You want to argue? You got it! You want to meet new people? You got it! Everything revolves around it. And it is true what they say; Coffee is a magical drink. Just imagine how many people popped out into the world simply because of the question; “can I buy you a cup of coffee?”
Coffee must be as black as hell, strong as death and as sweet as love.
Remember, if you drink sugared coffee you have a bitter life.
That's life for you.
